Terms of Service

Acceptance

By accessing or using The Arcanum Forge at arcanum-forge.com (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Site. The Site is operated by NodeCore LLC.

Who Can Use the Site

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site. By using it, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian.

What the Site Offers

The Arcanum Forge is a gaming community hub. It currently provides:

• Browser-based arcade games playable without an account
• A public leaderboard for recording and comparing high scores
• Arcanum ID — an account system with a public profile, friends, groups, private messages, and a wall you and others can post/comment/react on
• Links to our Discord community server
• Information about our Discord bots and other services
• Arc Mafia and other games built on this platform (each may have its own additional terms — see "Other Products" below)

We may add, change, or remove features at any time without notice.

Leaderboard Rules

The arcade leaderboard is a public record. By submitting a score you agree to:

• Submit only legitimate scores — scores achieved through normal gameplay, without cheating, exploiting bugs, or using automated tools.
• Use an appropriate name — names that are offensive, obscene, or designed to impersonate others may be removed without notice.
• Accept our rate limit — submissions are limited to 5 per game per hour per connection to keep the board fair. Attempts to circumvent this limit are not permitted.

We reserve the right to remove any leaderboard entry at our discretion.

Arcanum ID Accounts

Some parts of the Site — profiles, friends, messages, groups, and posting — require an Arcanum ID account. By creating one, you agree to:

• Keep your account secure — you are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• One account per person — do not create multiple accounts to evade a suspension, manipulate friend counts, or similar.
• Use accurate identity where it matters — do not impersonate another real person, our staff, or NodeCore LLC.
• Handle/display name rules — the same "no offensive/obscene/impersonating names" rule from the Leaderboard section applies to your handle and display name.

We may suspend or terminate an Arcanum ID account, with or without notice, for violating these Terms.

Arc Mafia specifically requires a linked Arcanum ID account to play, starting with the Beta 2 season. Playing Arc Mafia is also governed by Arc Mafia's own Terms of Service, in addition to these Terms.

Content You Post

Arcanum ID lets you post walls posts, comments, reactions, messages, and (if enabled for your account) custom profile HTML/CSS. Regarding that content:

• You own what you post. By posting content, you grant NodeCore LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and transmit it as needed to operate the Site (e.g. showing your post to your friends, rendering your profile).
• You're responsible for it. Content must not be illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, spam, or infringing on anyone else's rights.
• Comments default to friends-only visibility on most posts — this is a platform default we may adjust, not a guarantee of privacy for content you choose to post publicly.
• Profile customization is sandboxed. If you use the HTML/CSS customization feature, your markup is sanitized and rendered in an isolated frame. Attempting to bypass this sandbox, inject scripts, or otherwise use the feature to attack other users or the Site is prohibited and may result in immediate account termination.
• We can remove content or accounts. We have no obligation to pre-screen content, but we may remove any content and suspend/terminate any account, at our discretion, including in response to user reports (see our Privacy Policy's "Content Moderation" section).

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to the Site or its infrastructure
• Submit automated requests, scrapers, or bots to any endpoint
• Reverse-engineer or modify the games or any part of the Site
• Impersonate any person or entity on the leaderboard, a profile, or elsewhere
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users, including through posts, comments, reactions, private messages, or friend requests
• Scrape, bulk-collect, or algorithmically harvest other users' profile or social-graph data

Other Products

Individual games and products built on The Arcanum Forge (such as Arc Mafia) may publish their own additional Terms of Service and Privacy Policy covering gameplay-specific rules. Where those terms are silent, these Terms govern; where they conflict on a product-specific matter, the product's own terms control for that product.

Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including the games, artwork, code, and branding — is owned by NodeCore LLC or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

The Arcanum Forge name, logo, and associated marks are trademarks of NodeCore LLC.

Third-Party Services

The Site links to Discord and may integrate with other third-party services. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third party. Your use of Discord is governed by Discord's own Terms of Service.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. Games and leaderboard data may be reset, modified, or removed at any time.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NodeCore LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Site. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed $0, as the Site is provided free of charge.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The effective date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the jurisdiction where NodeCore LLC is registered.
